Grab Perkenalkan Grab Mandarin

“Target audience Grab (Mandarin) Adalah chinese dari mainland. they make up about 20% of world population yet <1% of them is proficient in english. even if just 5% of them travel here and spend rm300/pax daily malaysia would generate an income of 20.79b per day” – Kakak Twitter.
.

Wow.

Kakak, RM20.79 Billion/day = RM758.8 Trillion/year.

Banyak tu.

Tapi sadly to inform,

1. The total cumulative amount on tourist spending (Tourist Receipts) for the whole year for the past 5 year adalah around RM80+ Billion per year, jauh sangat lah kiranya sifir kakak tu.

Dan Chinese from China is not the biggest contributer pun.

Almost 70% of our Tourist Receipts datangnya dari negara-negara ASEAN.

Dan kalau tengok by country pun China is not no 1. Sometimes no 2, sometime no 3 lawan-lawan dengan Indonesia.

By ranking on the spending (2017) it will be:

1. Singapore – RM36.9 Billion
2. China – RM9.07 Billion
3. Indonesia – RM8.48 Billion

[1]
.

2. Chinese from China juga bukanlah the biggest tourist arrival ke Malaysia pun.

By ranking it will be:

1. Singapore ->10 juta
2. Indonesia > 3 juta
3. China < 3 juta [2]

.

3. Chinese from China juga are no where near the top five countries in terms of per capita spending.

1.Saudi Arabia – RM11,628
2. UAE – RM9,387,
3. Oman – RM8,491,
4. Iran – RM8,412
5. Kuwait – RM8,335

[3]
.

So based on the numbers and figures above, I think Grab should not focus on only Grab (Mandarin), but expand it to Grab (Bahasa Indonesia), Grab (Arabic) etc etc etc 😆🤭

Lagi satu…
